The Easiest Way To Update Your Bedroom On A Budget - Poor Little It Girl

I’ll admit it. We are 100% the pet parents that let their dog on the furniture. We tried, but after about 20 minutes with baby Bowie in our house, he was up on the sofa, bed…whenever he wanted to snuggle. That face, how was I ever supposed to say no to that face!?

Ok, now on to the top of this blog post, haha! In the time we’ve lived in our apartment in Atlanta, I’ve changed our bedding about 3 times (first here, then here). I’ve become obsessed. And since we’re about to move into the new home we bought (more on that later, I promise!), I’ve had home decor updates on the brain! But it really is the easiest way to update your bedroom on a budget. It’s it crazy how a simple bedspread can change the entire vibe of your sleep sanctuary?

With apartment life, we can’t do much to decorate the walls beyond a few pieces of art, so the details we add need to be impactful. I was going for neutral bedding for so long, but I wanted a change. I found this Serena & Lily bedspread on sale (they offered me a gift card after I worked with them on a collaboration last year I had been saving) and knew it was meant to be. The bold blue color is so vibrant and heck, even Adam loves it! This one piece has totally transformed our space. Plus the quilt does a good job of camouflaging Bowie hair that’s shedding everywhere.
